The Legend of Krapfenwaldl

A local legend adds mystery to the Krapfenwaldl forest. A boy discovered a bowl full of doughnuts while walking through the woods. Soon, a small black figure appeared and offered him even more doughnuts if he agreed to give up his soul. The boy didn’t believe it was the devil. To test him, he told the figure to turn into a giant, then into an acorn. The figure obeyed, and the boy trapped the acorn in a pouch. He took it to the blacksmith, who hammered it until the devil promised to leave the boy’s soul alone.

This is how the forest got its name, “Krapfenwaldl.”
